Yossi Dina

Yossi Dina, the outspoken and ingenuous businessman, entrepreneur and tv personality, was born in Israel on August 21, 1954. He spent time on a kibbutz, a communal settlement, and then served in as a commando in an elite unit in the Israeli Army.

At the age of 27, in 1981, Yossi arrived in the United States. After a brief stint in New York, he hitched a ride to Los Angeles where his first place of refuge was the Chabad house in Westwood CA. Soon he found his niche in the jewelry business selling diamonds and extending loans to people. Eventually Yossi opened his own shop “The Dina Collection” in Beverly Hills, the subject of the reality series “Beverly Hills Pawn” on the Reelz Channel.

Yossi has been a member and champion of Chabad of Malibu. In addition, Yossi continues to be on the forefront and many charitable causes.

 Lisette Ackerberg
Eishet Chayil Award 

Lisette Ackerberg is the former president of Eyebenders, a company she started which designed, manufactured and sold folding sunglasses. Lisette has served on the Board of Directors for The MedVance Institute, an allied health training school company and was a founding member of CONQUEST, a group raising funds for the Neurology Department at the University of Southern California.

Together with her late husband, Norman J. Ackerberg, Lisette has been a pillar of support to Chabad of Malibu and many other Jewish causes. In addition, Lisette has been a determined advocate for raising awareness and funding for stem cell research which has led to her active involvement with The Parkinson’s Action Network, The Parkinson’s Institute and The Michael J. Fox Foundation.  In December 2007, she served as Co-Chair for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research Gala.  She is also active with The Painted Turtle, Race to Erase MS, The Carousel Ball, Operation Smile and The Young Musician’s Foundation.
